A couple 1000 years ago Jesus started his ministry with a controversial speech, begun with perhaps the most mysterious (aka confusing) couple of sentences he ever spoke. These are wrestling words; deep and difficult to interpret, understand or apply. We're going to start our New Year diving into these sayings - usually called 'the beatitudes' - looking for the altered view of life and our world that Jesus is proposing. We will be all working together on this, experimenting with starting a conversation around Jesus' sayings each Sunday that we will all continue throughout the week on our own, and in GroupLife.
