Four days in a row. Hardly a longstanding tradition, but it is a trend and I’m liking it. I’ve always tried to spend time in prayer/meditation before I get up, but this has put an intentional focus on it that is working for me. I started simple today – I’ll be going down to the kitchen in a few minutes.

I know many of you have been thinking and praying for the family of Erlinda after her death a few weeks ago. Rowena and her son, Nate, and her Dad, Tomas, took Erlinda back to the Philippines where family and friends live. It was a healing time for them. They are back now and have a long way to go to let all the healing take place. Keep them in your prayers. And as they close up Tomas and Erlinda's old apartment they will need some help from the rest of us. Stand by to pitch in if you can.

Three days in a row. I remembered. Progress. I even remembered those feet a number of times today, so I’m starting to connect my 'early morning meditations' with my 'during the day experiences.'

Two things stood out in this morning’s 3 or 4 minute meditation.

Okay, I confess. Monday morning I completely forgot. (In case you're wondering what I forgot, read the previous blog entry, "Let your feet take you closer to God.") It wasn't until halfway through the day that it even dawned on me. Oops. I guess that proves I can't create a habit in one day. This is going to take some time and determination.

 Prayer Training

Dear friends and neighbors,

I saw a bumper sticker today that said, "God doesn't believe in atheists."  I guess the author doesn't understand the qualitative difference between God and us: While we may struggle to believe in God, the inverse is never true.  God believes in, loves, and died for atheists too.  Until we get that figured out, we'll keep seeing bumper stickers like this one donned by 'believers' who misrepresent God to the world.

Again this year we will be skiing and snowboarding on Sunday Feb 28th at Trollhaugen in Dresser WI.

What you need to know:

Potluck - we totally wing...bring something to share

2pm until they close at 9pm (give night skiing/riding a try its a blast, or head home while its still light.  up to you)

Lifts are $16 and rentals are $18.
