Fri. - Greg's Feet
[If you don’t know what this “feet” thing is about, read my first entry. Here’s the LINK.]
Four days in a row. Hardly a longstanding tradition, but it is a trend and I’m liking it. I’ve always tried to spend time in prayer/meditation before I get up, but this has put an intentional focus on it that is working for me. I started simple today – I’ll be going down to the kitchen in a few minutes. What will I find there? Well, there are a bunch of people all needing to get their day going – including me – and so it is easy to have our morning interaction resemble the stockmarket trading floor; everyone vying for their needs – sell high and buy low. Not what family or any kind of community should be like. I prayed that the me my feet would take down there would, by simply listening and helping, diffuse the instinct for us all to make sure we got our share.
I thought through other places and encounters that were coming up and what sort of presence my feet should carry to and through them. Then as I imagined my feet I thought about running. I haven’t gotten out for a while due to weather and ice and busy-ness. I felt like my feet ought to go running today because of the Sabbath it affords me, the exercise, and the fact that I do my best thinking when I’m running. Plus, it looks like the paths are pretty clear and it isn’t raining. I’ll see what my feet bring me.
