Thurs - Greg's Feet
Three days in a row. I remembered. Progress. I even remembered those feet a number of times today, so I’m starting to connect my 'early morning meditations' with my 'during the day experiences.'
Two things stood out in this morning’s 3 or 4 minute meditation.
First: Thursday is the day we do the ‘run through’ for Sunday’s service. One at Field and one at Longfellow. “Run Through” and feet seemed to naturally go together. I asked God to be with us as we put finishing touches on the service and that it would prepare us to be able to walk people into God’s presence in a meaningful way.
Second: I play basketball on Thursdays. I LOVE basketball. Even if I have a bad day it is so much fun. I asked God to help me find the joy of the game and of what my body can (or can’t) do as I ran (with my feet) up and down the court. And that the sweat and hard work turned joy, would give thanks to God from deep inside me somewhere.
Last reflection. Walking outside this afternoon I stepped on some ice that gave way to a deep icy-cold puddle beneath. Soaked my whole shoe and foot. What’s up with that, God? Hmmm… I suppose one can read too much into some things.
