You are PART OF, not the REASON FOR everything

On Sunday at Longfellow, and a couple of weeks ago at Field, every one got a little piece of plastic tubing like at the end of the service. I hope you are still carrying yours around. I am. It is a reminder that we are PART OF, not the REASON FOR everything. As such we are not buckets for God’s love, filling ourselves with what we want to have for ourselves, but pipes, conduits, passer-on-ers.

Carry that bit of tube around with you this week. I am. When you run into it in your pocket, purse, or setting on your desk, let it remind yourself to consider how it is that you can be a conduit of God’s love, mercy, forgiveness, hope or second-chances in that moment. Let it also remind you to consider how you can use all the things you do have, not just for yourself, but for God’s purposes in the world.

Got a story about it? Add it as a comment below, or send me an email or give me a call.

Peace, Greg
