Current Series at our Field Location
What was the best time of your life? Or better yet, how do you even read that question? Does it bring back memories of the time you were most amused? Or the time when you, like a finely tuned Olympic athlete, achieved your very best? They are both good responses, but very different. God’s eyes are on you – first of all with a parent’s love; second, with plans for seeing you grow up, filled with God’s power and spirit, helping unveil the kingdom that offers hope to the world. God’s love comes easily, but like a world class athlete's coach, God’s plans for you do not come so easily. They are ambitious, challenging, life changing. What do you think? Interested? Join us at Jacob's Well while we discover what the best times of our lives are all about.
Sundays at 10:30am, Field School (and March 14 at Anne Sullivan School)
March 7 - "Redefining Entertainment" There is a good time, and then there is a good time. God loves people who strive for either - that's never in question. But there is a difference in what they get out of their relationship with God and the world. It isn't about guilt, it isn't about brow beating or shame, it's about a challenge and possiblity that matches each of us right where we are right now.
March 14 (Field location) - "Feeling Good isn't the same as being good." We've got two sayings in our culture, "It's the thought that counts" and "The way to hell is paved in good intentions." Hmmm... which is it? How can we start with our heart, but make sure it makes it to our hands and feet so that our faith isn't just talk, but fills our walk? [Longfellow preview will be "Nothing is written in stone"]
March 21 - "Tips for Trainers" You aren't the first one to take on the challenges in your life. God knows life is full of them and wants us to learn from each other and help each other. Learn from those who have been there, fought hard, survived and thrived, and have the battle scars to show for it. It beats learning it all the hard way yourself.
March 28 - "When you hit the wall" Keep Going! Well trained athletes prepare for this moment. They don't like the wall any better than anyone else, but they are ready for it, have been there before and know that the purpose of the race is always on the other side of it. How can you not only not give up, but keep the vision of a whole new life on the other side of your own personal cross?
