Thanks for your prayers for my mom

Many of you have told me you are praying for my mom and my family. We can really use them and we appreciate them! In case you hadn't heard, my mom (almost 89) fell last week and broke her hip. She has had surgery and will be on bed or chair rest for up to 3 months. She has had some serious memory issues, so this has been a very painful and traumatic experience for her. I will be gone starting Tuesday (9/2) to move my mother from the hospital in Wausau, WI to a care facility in Madison, WI where my brother and one of my sisters live. Getting her stable, comfortable and at peace are the major goals of my visit. My dad died last summer at the age of 91, so this is a new stage for my mom and our whole family.

At the same time this is a very busy time for us at Jacob's Well as the fall starts up. So with little notice I'm leaving a lot of work to all of you. Thank you for being the kind of community that will let me do that. I would hope that we are all ready to help each other care for our first callings (our families) by covering for each other in the minstry we all share. Please don't leave the burden only to the staff. WE are Jacob's Well. And we are better and stronger when we do that together.

Thank you again,

Greg Meyer
